Mahogany dressing chest (Item #207)

An 18th century mahogany dressing chest and bookcase designed by Thomas Chippendale. This piece is based on a design in the 3rd edition of The Director plate 114. The exact match of this chest is at Nostell priory and was probably supplied by Chippendale. Exhibition Temple Newson House, Leeds 1951. Thomas Chippendale Catalogue no: 26 illustrated: "Chippendale furniture" by Anthony Coleridge Pl. 261. Circa 1760.
